 Regular Cleaning

Regular cleaning is essential to maintain the appearance and functionality of aluminum casement windows with screens. The glass panes should be cleaned regularly using a mild glass cleaner and a soft, lint - free cloth or sponge. This helps to remove dirt, grime, fingerprints, and other contaminants, ensuring a clear view and a clean appearance.

The aluminum frames should also be cleaned periodically to prevent the buildup of dirt, dust, and debris. A mild soap and water solution can be used to clean the frames, followed by rinsing with clean water and drying with a soft cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or tools, as they can scratch the surface of the aluminum and damage the finish.

The screens should be removed and cleaned regularly to ensure that they remain effective in blocking insects. A soft brush or vacuum cleaner can be used to remove dirt and debris from the mesh. For more stubborn stains, the screen can be washed with a mild soap and water solution, rinsed thoroughly, and allowed to dry completely before reinstalling.

 Inspection and Maintenance

In addition to regular cleaning, it is important to inspect the windows and screens periodically for any signs of damage or wear. Check the hinges, locks, and handles for proper operation and any signs of looseness or damage. Tighten any loose screws or bolts, and replace any damaged components as needed.

Inspect the weatherstripping and seals around the window frame for signs of wear, cracking, or deterioration. Replace any damaged weatherstripping to ensure a tight seal and prevent air and water leaks. Also, check the screen for any tears, holes, or damage to the mesh. Repair or replace the screen if necessary to maintain its effectiveness in blocking insects.
